Horror! We all love that genre. The thrill, the excitement, the suspense, and even the jump scares. However, this genre is not for everybody, especially the faint-hearted. Amongst the lovers of this genre is Ed Harrington, an artist based in Virginia, known for his illustrations. Fascinated by this genre, ever since he was a little child, he decided to bless us all with his version of scary movie characters.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Ed Harrington, who is also known as nothinghappenedtoday on Instagram, Tumblr, and his website, revealed the name of his new series – IKEA instructions. This series featured instructions on how to make horror movie villains. These instructions though are simple, we can’t help but admire the artwork and the ideas.

We have picked out some of the best IKEA inspired illustrations from his work for you:

1. Samara

Recipe for disaster in just 7 days!
For those of you who haven’t seen the movie “The Ring”, Samara is known to be one of the creepiest and scariest character of all times.

2. Betel Geuse

Do you want to meet the legend himself? Why don’t you call out his name 3 times!

3. Edward Scissorhands

All you need is: 14 scissors and no hands.

4. Darth Vader

Take the chosen one, making him evil, cut off all his limbs and attach the IKEA made prosthetics and VOILA! You now have your own Darth Vadar.

“I usually stick to horror for IKEA series because I enjoy the genre, and most villains have a “creation” story that I can mine for ideas. Occasionally, I venture into other subjects, but horror seems to work better for the concept.” It usually takes the artist between 6-12 hours depending upon how complicated the character may be and how many steps would be needed to create the illustrations. This series not only focuses on movies but also has horror characters from books.

5. Hannibal Lecter

Now, who hasn’t seen the movie “The Silence of the lambs”? Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a forensic psychiatrist, as well as a cannibalistic serial killer.

6. Carrie

But… would the blood be included?
It was an amazing movie of a girl who likes to stay reserved and in her own personal space but everyone just bullied her until she unleashed her telekinetic powers.

7. Gremlin

Do you want to unleash a horde of monsters? Here’s how you can do it!

8. Freddy Krueger

Of course, still can’t forget the movie “A nightmare on elm street”. Freddy is one of the best serial killer hollywood has ever produced!

“One two freddys coming for you. Three four better lock your doors. Five six get you stick. Seven eight stay up late. Nine ten never sleep again.” – Felipe StillChill

Harringon has been working as an illustrator for the past 20 years. “For my “day job,” I work as a graphic designer at an alt-weekly newspaper. Nights are spent working on illustration commissions or just drawing for fun. I’ve done illustration work for Fox television, Penguin Books, id10t, and others. I’ve been drawing my entire life, and even went to art school for college to study graphic design and illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University. I think that my commercial art background as a designer/illustrator with a realistic drawing style allows me to mimic most artistic drawing styles and allows me to be flexible in my subject matter.” No wonder why these and all his other illustrations are amazing!

9. Alien

Who doesn’t know about Aliens? We all do but for those of you who haven’t watched the classic “Alien” flick from the 70’s, wouldn’t know about this character. It’s giving us such a creepy vibe.

10. Robocop

Whenever I hear about Robocop, people would associate it with the Terminator but Robocop is a classic of 80’s. Peter Weller rocked this role and definitely left a legacy behind to follow.

How cool would it be to build Chucky from the movie “Child’s Play” at home? But we are not sure if you would surive that or not.

13. Damien Thorn

Well, this one doesn’t really need any introduction but for those of you who don’t know, Damien is the Antichrist and devil’s son from the movie “Omen”. Bet you can’t watch this movie alone. Imagine getting this delivered to your house. Yikes!

18. Candyman

Candyman was thought to be a myth but let us show them that it’s not!

19. The Walking Dead

All you need to do is to find a zombie and get yourself bitten by it. But wait, shouldn’t it come with the package? Hmm…

20. Brundlefly

This was one of the most creepiest movies ever! I can’t even think about it. Nope, I am not going too. Where can I hide though?

21. He-Man

Find his sword and hide it, please.

Well, gage creed was cute, yes, but so scary.
