Art is a wonderful form of expression.

We can always paint the things we just can’t put into words. Sometimes words just aren’t enough. And like they say, a picture can speak a thousand words. We paint to immortalize things. Sometimes we capture good memories in our art to preserve them, sometimes we display our worst nightmares to share just how horrifying they can be. If you are someone who experiences frequent nightmares, you know how disturbing they can be at times. No matter how well you describe them, some people can’t imagine it right. That’s where painting comes in.

Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński described all his nightmares through his paintings. Since the artist isn’t around anymore, we can’t give you many details about his art, but he used to say “I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams.” And when you see these paintings, you’re going to be surprised by the kind of dreams this person used to see. Scroll down below to see his art:

I don’t know if what I’m about to say will make sense but, these images are so LOUD. I think this man really needed help. Living through such horrifying nightmares must have made his life a living hell. But these paintings are also hauntingly beautiful. We are grateful for the work he left behind for us.
